Erma, why? oh why? are you so inexpensive? Calligraphers in New York and other high fallutin' places charge a heck of a lot more than you...did you know that?
Why yes, as a matter of fact, I do. I charge the way I do because I love calligraphy, I love to write. I love sitting at my table for hours on end until my legs fall asleep and my back starts to hurt and my hand starts to cramp. (I bought a timer so this doesn't happen that much anymore.)
Envelope addressing is the bread and butter of the calligrapher, but best of all, envelope addressing is the best practice the calligrapher has for improving and maintaining their craft. If it wasn't for these envelopes, most calligraphers wouldn't stay in practice and their letterforms would deteriorate away to nothing. I charge the way I do so I can stay in practice and so I can keep doing what I love to do. |
